KACCL 2016 has raised £18,000!

Local business people across Kirklees and Calderdale have together raised £18,000 through an inaugural Christmas lunch in aid of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

The Kirklees & Calderdale Annual Christmas Lunch (KACCL) which took place on Thursday 15 December at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield, was a huge success and raised vital funds for the hospice, based at Russell House in Huddersfield.

In January the hospice was hit by a devastating fire and lost £140,000 in funding. The money raised through the lunch will go towards recouping some of this funding.

The lunch, sponsored by Huddersfield accountants Crowther, was attended by 240 people in the local business community. Attendees enjoyed entertainment by well-loved magician John Danbury who also acted as the event’s auctioneer and a local college choir and string quartet made their debut as Huddersfield New College’s Performing Arts Group performed alongside Musica Kirklees’ String Quartet.

The KACCL organising committee represents figures from local businesses including James Robinson Fibres Ltd, Cedar Court Hotels, Chadwick Lawrence, Stafflex, Crowther Accountants, TopicUK and Faith PR.

Nadio Granata, chair and head of marketing at Stafflex Limited said: “I’d like to thank all the sponsors, organising committee and most of all the businesses who took time out to attend. We have already set the date for next year to Thursday 7 December 2017 and are talking to charities about next year’s event.”
